An estimated 2,400 CDC employees are in the process of being laid off. We've got a list of effected divisions, and the impact on public health in the US will be vast. Cuts have been made in everything from the study of birth defects, to chronic diseases, to STDs, to miner safety (yes – coal miners). Who do you think wanted that pulled? We will STAND in solidarity with these civil servants, and demand to know the justification for the decision to simply do away with these critical areas of public health.
